Want to bring the magic and romance of Paris t your cards? The Parisian Blossom Suite has become one of my favorite suites of all time! I have always loved Paris themed photos and decorations. I’ve never been to Paris, but there is something magical about the city even from afar. Romance, beautiful life, exquisite style and food, it’s enchanting. Therefore, when I saw the Parisian Blossoms Suite, I knew I had to have it.
I had fun making some cards to share at my recent card event, Sale-a-Bration 2020 Catalog Kickoff Party and Bingo.
Usually my card class attendees make 2 of every card design at my monthly card classes, but for this special event I wanted them to make two different cards using the same suite.
Both cards are relatively simple.
Eiffel Tower Elegance using Parisian Blossom Suite Dies
This card does not require any stamping.
Supplies You Will Need
- Base: Petal Pink card stock cut at 5.5 x 8.5
- Layer 1: Whisper White card stock cut 5.25 x 4
- Layer 2: Parisian Blossoms Designer Series Paper cut at 5 x 3.75
- Use scrap piece of black to cut out the Eiffel Tower using the Parisian Dies
- Glue Dots
I used glue dots to attach the Eiffel Tower to the paper.
Simply take a glue dot off the backing, roll it between your thumb and forefinger to make it longer and place on the back of the tower at each bottom foot, the two solid black lines in the middle of the tower and at the top of the tower.
Inside I left blank, for now. It can easily be made into any type of card when I want to use it. For now, I might just leave it out for decoration.
After the class, I was looking at the card and had the idea to add rhinestones to the tower to make it sparkle. You may not be able to see it as well in the picture, but it does add just a hint of sparkle in the light.
Amour Paris Using Parisian Blossom Suite
This card is also quite simple. Using a basic background and ink, it makes the word “Amour” pop.
I had wanted to work Amour into the first card with the cut out Eiffel Tower, but it got lost on top of the floral paper and cut out tower.
Therefore, I created a simple background to give the word the attention it deserved.
Supplies You Will Need
- Base: Crumb Cake card stock cut at 8.5 x 5.5
- Layer 1: Cherry Cobbler card stock cut st 5.25 x 4
- Layer 2: Very Vanilla card stock cut at 5 x 3.75
- Scrap of Cherry Cobbler to cut out Amour
- Parisian Blossom Suite – Parisian Dies
- Parisian Blossom Suite – Parisian Beauty Cling Stamp Set
- Ink: Soft Suede and Early Espresso
This sample uses Soft Suede for the postal stamps and the words. I stamped off the extra ink once before stamping on the card.
(When I say stamping off the extra ink, I mean that I ink the stamp, then I stamp it once onto another sheet of paper before I stamp it onto my card front.
I always use the grid paper on my workspace so that I can test colors or stamp off ink easily.)
Then I used Early Espresso for the tower.
You could use either ink for the entire card front. Just be sure to stamp off the ink at least once for the background stamps and keep it bolder for the tower.
Then cut out the Amour OR merci from the Cherry Cobbler card stock and use mini dots for your adhesive.
Paper Saving Tip
Here is a little tip/secret, if you want, you could cut out the word from the middle of the Cherry Cobbler you are using in Layer 1. The paper is big enough for the word and the cut out will be covered by the Very Vanilla layer.
I hope you have fun making these cards and your own creations using the Parisian Blossoms Suite.
